First impressions: My daughter Jasmine was given these toys as a gift for Easter when she was 17 months old, just as we were looking for more grown-up toys to entertain her curious little mind. 🙂

First impressions were that they were lovely, bright and well made. The moving parts, such as doors and the open/close function of the toys, are easy to use and the parts click on and off, great for a destructive toddler who has a habit of throwing or dropping.

What’s good about it: Each play set comes with accessories. The toadstool came with two fairies, a fairy bed and a table, and the Caravan came with two baking ladies and a horse with saddle. The accessories are not too small to worry about choking hazards.

The toadstool can be opened out and the roof of the caravan folds down to allow easy access to the interiors, which are laid out with kitchen and sleeping areas. The fact that the toy can be closed is a fantastic way to store the parts and makes it easy for an – occasionally unsteady – toddler to carry them around.

I can honestly say Jasmine has had hours of enjoyment with these toys. She places them together like a little village and it’s fantastic to see her creative little mind working when she swaps places and settings of the characters, putting them to bed, or in the kitchen. 🙂 She is in her own little world when she plays with the toys and mumbles to herself, interacting with the toys, and looking at me to show me what she is doing.

We have also used these toys to promote play with other children by taking them outside to play in a group.

The downside… Nothing – in fact as ELC have such a fantastic range of HappyLand toys and accessories we will definitely be building up a collection of them in the future.

To sum it up: These sets come highly recommended! Affordable, great value and hours of fun.
